Tanzania Mines, Gas/Energy and Oil Forum (TMGOF) is the online forum dedicated to provide a platform for private sector and governments to convene together and exchange information to expedite day to day investment and operations in the extractive industries.

In the late 2013, during the found of the Gemological Institute of America Chapter in Tanzania (GIA Tanzania Chapter), the idea of having web forum for natural resources in Tanzania existed, which include mines, gas and oil.

Gilay Shamika, a Senior Engineer and Gemologist from Tanzania Minerals Audit Agency (TMAA), was convincing in his idea of having a website forum for natural resources in Tanzania. He told stakeholders that: “I want to run forum website that people will have discussion with stakeholders in natural resources to expedite investment and day to day natural resource business in Africa. Inadequate information and exposure of local businessmen hinder the business booming. It is the duty of care for experts to bridge this gap by having online forum to carter as a centre of extracts of information for extractive industries in Africa”.

Today TMGOF exists to nurture that idea.
