Understanding the Kurdistan Production Sharing Contracts
Special Focus on Finding Undiscovered Resources in Kurdistan
20-22 March 2013, Istanbul, Turkey
The Kurdistan region has seen a remarkable development of its natural resources in the past few years. With the exploration and production of natural resources less damaged by war than other regions the role of Kurdistan – Iraq as a factor in the global energy security is increasing.
This year CWC School for Energy is launching Understanding the Kurdistan Production Sharing Contract following on from the success of the Kurdistan-Iraq Oil & Gas Conference run by the CWC Group.
“Iraqi Kurdistan’s oil reserves are estimated at about 45 billion barrels of crude oil and more than three trillion cubic meters of natural gas, drawing the attention of countries who consume the most oil”
The course provides a true in-depth analysis of the Kurdish Production Sharing Contract and the commercial challenges and opportunities. There are practical examples throughout the sessions delivered by J Jay Park QC, Chair Global Resources Practice Group at Norton Rose Canada. Jay has been voted the “World’s Leading Oil & Gas Lawyer” in 2006 and 2007 working with Iraq for several years.
